Updates

I have a couple good baby books now and I’ve been reading the Mayo Clinic one today. The amount of food I’m supposed to eat seems crazy! There’s a lot of “do no eat” things too.. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten so healthy. But I’ve heard healthy eating goes out the window when you start getting sick.… I was reading “Belly Laughs” by Jenny McCarthy and in the last 2 weeks of her pregnancy, she baked a pan of brownies EVERY night and ate the ENTIRE pan at once. I can’t wait :)

9 servings of grains/cereals
4 servings veggies
3 servings fruit
3 servings dairy
3 servings meat/eggs

Steve and I started to keep track.. the grains category ends up being the hardest, surprisingly. The V8 Splash drink helps a TON with the veggies and fruits, too bad it’s so expensive and I go through it so quickly!

I started swimming laps today for exercise. I had been running, but it no longer feels that great with all the cramping. Swimming was tough, but relaxing – although, I was tired before I started and now I feel like I could sleep for days. I had no idea I’d be so drained of energy this early on – MAJOR props to all pregnant women who work full time. I also had no idea how often I’d have to pee!! My goodness, it’s annoying.

Steve has been fantastic. He’s constantly making sure I’m eating and drinking enough and asking what I need.

Example: He just brought me two sandwiches and 2 drinks (water and juice). And yes, he expects me to drink and eat all of it. And I just did. I normally can’t even finish one sandwich. I’m going to be FAT! (but really, the 2nd sandwich had bacon on it and I just can’t pass that up).

First doctor appointment is Monday! I can hardly wait!
