Steve and I took off work early to head to our 2nd doctor appointment yesterday. It was quick – in and out! They had me do the urine test, took my weight and blood pressure, and.… listened to the baby’s heartbeat!!!
Results of 1st appt blood tests…
Type: A Positive
RH: Positive
This was a relief. If I was RH Negative (and a test of the baby showed it was RH Positive), my body would basically recognize the baby as foreign and try to attack it. I’ve read that it’s not a problem, thanks to antibiotics, etc., but it’s still a relief to not have to worry about it! 
Weight: 115. Lost a pound?! I need to start EATING!
Uterus: Feels good/normal. It’s growing upward, into my abdomen… she felt it up to my belly button.
Heartbeat: It took her awhile to find it and she kept telling us not to worry if we couldn’t hear it because it was still early. I was pouting about it – really thought she’d never find it. Then all of a sudden! It was a quick, wave-like sound. Then the baby moved and she lost it.… but when she finally found it again, she kept it there for awhile. How cute!!!! I loved it. Again, a huge relief to know everything is ok.
Steve used my iPhone and recorded the heartbeat… We kept listening to it last night. So cool to just think about what’s in there. And that the baby responds already to touch and can even cry. Awwwww.

Btw… After hearing the heartbeat I was convinced it was a boy. Then I had a dream last night that it was a girl. But I also had a dream that my mom was pregnant. So… let’s stick with boy
Next appt: July 6th. This one will include more blood tests and listening to the heartbeat again. We’ll also get set up for the ULTRASOUND to find out the sex (!!!!) which will happen about two weeks after this appt… end of July!
I can’t wait to hear the recording!!!! Maybe you will have to play it and record it onto your computer?! Plug into computer and download to Itunes?? hmmm. As far as your weight loss, I am sure in the next month you will begin to make up for that 1 pound!

If Beth is pregnant (as you dreamed about) then your first born will have an aunt/uncle the same age. I had a friend back in high school that had an aunt that was two years younger than him. He use to tease me and say if I married her, he could call me “uncle denny”
