The Baby:
*Baby is moving amniotic fluid through the respiratory tract, helping primitive air sacs form
*Legs are now longer than the arms
*Baby can sense light (will move away if you shine a flashlight at the belly)
*Forming taste buds
*4 inches long, weighing 2.5 ounces = size of an apple
*I can feel the baby “fluttering” around once in awhile
The Mom:
*Weight gain: should be around 5 pounds… for me, it’s probably like 1 – 2 (at least, I hope!)
*Suffering from a stuffy nose/nosebleeds or urinary tract infections? Nope, none.
*Movement: feeling the baby move can be felt this early, but normally for women on their second+ child (because they can better recognize the feeling) or for thinner women. I have definitely felt the baby move ![]()
*What to do this week: talk to the baby
*Could start to feel Braxton-Hicks contractions – they get the uterus ready for birth. I don’t think I’ve had any yet, although they describe them as a tightening in the uterus area… which I definitely feel a lot. My belly area feels tight, stretched, etc.
Next dr. appt: was moved AGAIN (glad I’m getting a new doctor at the end of July!!!)… is now Tues, July 7th. Ultrasound still scheduled for July 27
