I mentioned wanting to watch my uncle’s audio visual DVD while in labor and decided another preggo out there might love it too! Curt Johnsen is a pianist, composer and videographer and in 2006 he released a visual audio composition… the idea is like listening to a painting. He took images (from a local garden) and put them to some original music composition. It’s beautiful! And completely relaxing.

About Curt Johnsen: he’s the all-time biggest RAMI winner (Rockford Area Music Industry) with 9 awards for best keyboardist, best album, best modern music composer, best live sound engineer, best stage manager, critic’s choice/best composer, critic’s choice/best album, and hall of fame. Curt has been playing the piano for over 40 years, composing for over 30 and has played regionally, nationally and internationally. His work has had a meaningful impact on local arts and community organizations. He truly has a passion for what he does and has gained the respect of other musicians and artists as both a musician and a sound engineer.
View clips of this beautiful audio visual DVD here: Ambiessence. The DVD, bringing still photos to life, is divided into 3 sections and is about 45 minutes long.

Not only is this great music to relax to during pregnancy and labor, but it provides peaceful images as well. A great sleep aid during those last weeks of pregnancy and the perfect distraction during labor! Plus, I bet the baby would love it once (s)he’s born… the music and the moving pictures!

I guess I need to re-vote! It looks like you are on the same type of schedule as my sister was last year, so I’m going to guess Baby Dickey will be born on my nephew’s birthday, December 27th. Let’s say.….6:27am.
