Family traditions and heritage are very important to us, which is why I was SO excited to receive the “My Heritage Book.” Steve and I are both (proudly) Norwegian, I’m also Irish, and Steve is also Swedish. This book lets you completely customize it with the countries of your choice (see the entire list here), child’s name, birth date, etc. What an awesome idea?!
This hardcover book includes up to 4 countries of your choice and is written for one American child (although there is an option to include siblings names). You can also let them know if you’d like a custom book for a child who does not live in America. Each country is dedicated a number of pages filled with information about customs, language, geography, traditions, history and information on the flag and capital. You can view pages from a sample book here: My Heritage Book: sample
My favorite things about this book?
*Your child’s name is used throughout — what an exciting way for them to learn about their heritage!
*The end of the book has pages you can fill in with your own family traditions and family tree
*Incredible artwork by Alicia Bresee, which can also be ordered here
*All the fun information on the countries that are important to you!
I really can’t wait to share this book with lil Ryan and teach him all about Norway, Ireland and Sweden. Plus, the first 2 pages of the book focus on America and what exactly heritage and tradition mean.
Here’s the introduction page with our child’s name, our own ending “Welcome to the World!”, our closing “Love Mom and Dad,” and our special date “December 2009.” You can make that an exact birth date (or whatever other occasion you’re gifting this book for!), we just didn’t know what ours would be when we got this book
You can order the book here for $39.95 — definitely worth the price!!

Exceptional article. There’s a lot of great information here, though I did want to let you know something – I am working on Ubuntu with the up-to-date beta of Internet Explorer, and the design of your website is kind of raffish for me. I can figure out the articles, but the navigation doesn’t function so great.
