Ok, so 2 days ago Ryan was 8 weeks old. The change we see in him already is incredible. Not only is he much bigger, but we can see how much more aware he is and how he responds to things around him.… it’s amazing, really, to see his little mind work. Some new things:
- He’s in size 2 diapers!!! I still can’t believe it.
- We’re moving soon to size 3 – 6 mo clothes. He’s just so LONG that 0 – 3 mo stuff doesn’t work so well anymore and brands that have a 3mo size are nearing their end.
- He has started gazing at his hands… I’ve only caught it twice so he’s slowly working on it
- If we put his hand on the hanging toy on his bouncer, he’ll grip it and pull to make music, but he doesn’t have the hand-eye coördination yet to grab things on his own (I read that happens soon?)
- He LOVES his swing!!! He hated it before, but now it’s amazing (for me and Steve, haha). He’ll stare at the mobile and mirrored thing above him until he falls asleep.
- He’s eating like crazzzzy. I never really made a milk supply for the fridge so what I pump at work one day is used to feed him the next. That wasn’t such a great plan because now he’s eating more than I pump… I’m actually home from work today because he was up ALL night eating (so not like him) and I knew we didn’t have enough milk in the fridge to hold him over for today (growth spurt?) He eats like 6 ounces at once from a bottle and breastfeeds almost every hour!
- But, of course, he DOES sleep through the night (not counting last night, haha). He usually is asleep by 8 – 8:30pm and doesn’t wake up to nurse until around 3:30-4am. That’s 7 – 8 hours in a row! Whoohoo! Sometimes he wakes up around 2:30 to fuss a bit, but I put his paci in and he’s right back to sleep.
- He responds to sounds more, which is awesome, but also means we have to be more careful when he’s sleeping! I first noticed it when I was nursing him and I said something to Steve (kinda loud, I guess) and Ryan jumped so high, arms flailing and everything! I laughed, but felt so bad, haha.
- Favorite song: “Meet Me Halfway” by the Black Eyed Peas. Seriously, he can be screaming and we turn this song on and he’s almost immediately quiet.
Some more adorable pictures.…..
He loves bath time in the tummy tub! He was smiling the whole time, but the flash on my camera kept confusing him, haha.

What is your bedtime routine consist of? Jack will sleep for 4 hours at night but I haven’t been able to get anything more than that at one time. I’d love 6 hours!!

He is still the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! The picture of him in the bouncy seat is very Steve-ish.

He’s so cute! I have the same problem with Fi, she outgrows everything because of length!! I’m not buying anymore 1 piece stuff…she’s only gonna wear a shirt & pants and not 1 piece jumpers (which she does anyway).
It too Fi to like her swing too. I think when she was 4 months is when she would go in it.
