I have to agree about the changing stations. It's appalling! And I cannot even count how many people, when I have asked where a changing station is located, advise me to change my son on the dirty bathroom floor! As if that is an option!

I agree about the changing stations! They are so yucky sometimes too. They need disinfectant spray or wipes there. Sometimes, I would have preferred to change my grrls on a blanket or changing pad on the ground outside or a bench versus a public restroom changing table.

I haven't noticed so much of a problem with women's loos not having changing tables, but ONLY women's do, so if you're a man and out and about with a baby that's a problem!

Not really relevant to breastfeeding, but hey!

A changing table? Almost never. As I sit here, I can think of only one time that I've seen a changing table. It was a gas station restaurant off the highway. What a catastrophe!

I'm mostly amazed by the types of places that don't have changing tables. Like a "family friendly" bowling alley or a store specifically for baby/children's clothing. Really?

And I also love it when the cashier holds my receipt for me!

I live on Vancouver Island in BC and we are known to be pretty liberal. Most often we can find those things you mention. I haven't had any problems with NIP either, but now that my youngest is 3 I do tend to be much more discreet for my own comfort level and to protect her from any rude comments.
