Well…. we’ve reached the due date. We are 100% (280 days; 40 weeks; 10 months) through. The Baby: *Average newborns are about 20 inches long and weigh about 7.5 pounds (a small pumpkin!) *Only about 3 – 5% of babies are born exactly on their due dates *Arrival anytime in the next 2 WEEKS in considered normal *His growth is slowing dramatically *Amniotic fluid around him is starting to diminish and get cloudier as he sheds Keep Reading Pregnancy Week 40: fully cooked. Now, I’m no alchy, but I enjoy the occasional night out or glass of wine with dinner. Drinking is out during pregnancy so I wondered what the “rules” were for breastfeeding because I do plan on doing that exclusively. (I even WON a $280 Medela pump last week sorry to brag!) Anyway, I started by asking on twitter, as usual. Apparently some believe in “pump and dump,” which I had never heard of. The idea behind this is Keep Reading Breastfeeding and Alcohol My posts come out all clumped together because wordpress never works from our apartment internet. So when I head out, I get as many written as I can! ONE week to go!!! Maybe less… maybe more… A few days ago I was thinking I’d go past my due date, but as of yesterday, I’m thinking I’ll go before. I’m just feeling lots of low pressure and pain in my lower back (tail bone low). Our little scare last night got Keep Reading Pregnancy Week 39 2 weeks to go?! Man alive (yea, I pulled that phrase out from the early 90s). We are 266 days through (95%!) with only 14 more to go (as of this past Friday). The Baby: *Weighs from 6 to 7.5 pounds *19.5 to 21 inches in length *He has a firm grasp and his organs are ready for the outside world! *He has probably reached his birth weight (boys are usually longer and heavier than girls – wonderful!) *Neurons are Keep Reading Pregnancy Week 38 It’s a huge relief to be at 37 weeks and to be considered full term! As of today (this post is really late!) I’m 263 days (94.3%) of the way though with only 17 days to do! Ahhh!!! It’s SO CLOSE I can’t even believe it. The Baby: *Many babies have a full head of hair at birth (1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long)… I’m going to guess ours is nearly bald… some peach fuzz *He’s only adding a few Keep Reading Pregnancy Week 37: Full Term!! |
